My first ad agency job.

It sucked. I worked for the worst ad agency in Chicago. I won’t even tell you their name. I was doing Automotive Aftermarket advertising. Selling mufflers, car jacks, gaskets, timing lights, lubricants.

I lasted 2 years.

But it taught me a valuable lesson. Keep your eye on the prize.

Build your portfolio. Focus on your goal.  Only work for the best.

Getting fired from this agency was the best thing that every happened to me.

One side note. While there, I was asked to do a quickie logo for the

Chicago Distance Classic, a half-marathon race sponsored by the First National Bank of Chicago.  This event eventually grew into the Chicago Marathon.
