I wanted to draw comic books.
Marvel Comics changed my life. The were so superior to all other comics at the time, it was amazing. Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, Stan Lee, Jim Steranko, they inspired me and captured my imagination. Along with my best friend Larry Guidotti (he drew better than I did), we projected frames from panels and traced the figures on our bedroom walls . Then learned to draw them freehand. I sorta became the class artist. I did wall murals. Designed sports medals.
After graduation, I went looking for a career in comic art.
